Simply Samantha
| Just me. In my natural environment. The luxurious corner booth of the local McDonalds. |
Hi there! Not sure how you found my humble makings of this blog, but I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Samantha. I’m 30 years old. I’m a mother to child and furchildren alike. I work two full-time jobs. One of which, I’m hoping this blog will serve as a portfolio.
I live and love in South Carolina, but my heart will always be in Tennessee. GO VOLS! I’m an old soul who loves to crochet or curl up with a good book. I’m a people person. And this blog will likely be miscellaneous ramblings.
How’d I End Up Here?
I wish kept tabs on how many blogs I’ve started. I’m sure the number would be astronomically embarrassing. There are several Tumblrs that come to mind. I can remember the most recent. It was aptly titled “Too Fat For Belly Rings.” I thought it was a cynical attempt at a body-positive movement. The sort of the stereotypical, woe is me, away from home to college Millennial would relate to. Oh! And there was this one where I tried to make a profound metaphorical connection of things in the world to the seven layers of hell (Sorry, Mom). I'm probably going to apologize to my parents a lot throughout this endeavor. They, without a doubt, and without much help from me, raised me to be a better person than the poor choices of my youth. As a younger, pre-midlife crisis me would say, I've had my fair share of trials and tribulations. But let's be honest for a second. Without using Google- I have no idea what tribulation is. I'm sure I wrote some angsty poetry in which I rhymed it with revelation and/or expectation.
All of that to say, I'm six days into to 2020, and I’m easing into my “resolutions’. Don’t let my cautious optimism fool you. I’m very much the sort of person that tries to start a new habit on Monday, and I’m back to my old ways by Wednesday. I love the fresh start of a Monday, the first of the month, the new year. So let’s stick it out for three weeks.
Why Three Weeks?
I don’t know where I read it, but I learned that it takes twenty-one days to establish a new habit or routine. Twenty-one blog posts shouldn’t be too hard with the assistance of Pinterest and its abundance of blog prompts.
Let’s see where we are in twenty-one blog posts. My hope is to know what niche my blog is going to be after twenty-one days.
